Several months ago I read a book called 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris. It’s the most in-depth explanation of how to use current Internet technology to build a business that essentially runs itself. We wanted to try out his technique, so we built a site called iYule.TV.
iYule.TV offers a beautiful HD fireplace video for iPods, iPhones, Apple TV and computer displays. The Yule Log videos are .mp4 files in resolutions suited to different players. A rich crackling fire soundtrack is enhanced by an original score by Geoff Smith (the Digg the Code guy).
My goal is to offer something that will be a sentimental part of your family Christmas tradition–not just this year but for years to come.
When I watch this video, I’m sucked into the fire and hypnotized by Geoff’s music. It’s perfect for a whimsical romantic dinner or a dinner around the family table.
I was inspired to create this after reading 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris and after our meeting with Dave Ramsey. If I sell something, I want it to be something that I love and this fits in that category. It’s romantic and has the potential to create a moment in your life you’ll always remember.
The producers that are making this video experience possible are donating a percentage of profits to three charities. Paul Colligan is donating to the LitLiberation Project. Geoff Smith is donating to the Songs of Love Foundation, and Neal and I are donating to Heifer International.
Here is a sample of the video on an iPhone and a Nano:
We used the Virb player because it’s the most beautiful flash player we’ve found. If you want to buy the iYule log video, the links to do so are at iYule.TV. Thanks for watching!

I think Cali and company really hit her stated goal here: A sentimental work worthy of many years enjoyment. Geoff’s beautiful and understated piano work is reminiscent of Vince Guaraldi (“A Charlie Brown Christmas”). The video is simple, yet undeniably beautiful, and the sentiment and passion of its creators comes through very clearly.

Did you get the affiliate link working yet? I'm not as interested in making revenues as I am in tracking, which is why I asked.

@recycler: I'll have it set up tomorrow (Monday). Send me an email to iyuletv@gmail.com to make sure I send you the info. Include "Affiliate Program" in the subject.
