It's definitely Wah-Cum.
It's short for "Washinomiya Computers", after their head office location.
At least, that's what my Wacom sales rep tells me...

@Dave Friedel, that ... it will be. In a shiny, happy world, venders would pursue - and further develop - better technologies, offer better products and solutions that are more universal.

It's worthwhile to note that a standard DisplayPort will do both video and audio just fine. It's the Mac's hampered "mini" port that requires extra cabling. I hooked my Dell to HDMI with a single adapter: http://bit.ly/11AdJX

It's going to be interesting how the standards play out. HDMI has of course become standard in video. DisplayPort is able to transfer more data and has a more flexible configuration of packet transfer (and is more compact).

Thank you for reporting on MIT's research in seeking a cure for blindness. Until, I'll continue looking at ways to make computing and Inter-networkng more easily accessible for everyone, so that those who haven't our gift of sight can enjoy that which we might take for granted.

So, I posted above before seeing the end of the podcast IN WHICH YOU SHOW THE CORRECT PRONUNCIATION but continue to willfully do it incorrectly. It's lame and disrespectful. I would say that you sound ignorant but you know better.
