It’s worthwhile to note that a standard DisplayPort will do both video and audio just fine. It’s the Mac’s hampered “mini” port that requires extra cabling. I hooked my Dell to HDMI with a single adapter: http://bit.ly/11AdJX

It’s going to be interesting how the standards play out. HDMI has of course become standard in video. DisplayPort is able to transfer more data and has a more flexible configuration of packet transfer (and is more compact).
