learning scales and chord shapes is important yes. but for what you get, i think youll learn faster when your instrument is in tune and sounds the way you want it to. its simply just confusing a frustrating for a new student to learn the right shapes, play them, and have them sound “off”. especially when learning those crucially important first songs. those first songs motivate a guitar player for most of their playing life.

really, its better to just buy a decent guitar for like 500 (seriously an epiphone, or import prs, or a used mexican fender for 500 is WAY better).

the fret lights really dont add that much. i know from personal experience.
