Amazon Customers Set Gift Expectations High This Holiday Season
Leading Online Retailer Responds by Discounting High-Quality, High-Demand Products
SEATTLE –(Business Wire)– Dec. 5, 2007 At the halfway point of this year’s holiday shopping season, results show that Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) customers have high expectations for gifts and are seeking primarily high-quality, brand-name items. In response, Amazon.com is discounting many of the site’s most desired products, offering customers great value for their shopping dollar.
According to Amazon’s Most Wished For items (products that appear most frequently on customer Wish Lists), customers are seeking consumer electronics, toys, kitchenware, and watches from high-quality, well-known brands. Across all categories offered on Amazon.com, customers are using product ratings and customer reviews to determine the highest-quality items that fit their shopping budget.
“It is no coincidence that the Most Wished For items on Amazon.com also happen to be very high-quality items,” said Craig Berman, Amazon.com spokesperson. “Customers want products that are stylish, durable and perform exceptionally well, and we are pleased to offer many of these popular and desirable products at greatly discounted prices as we head into our busiest time of the year.”

That foot is like the "Three men and a little baby" phenomenon… pretty soon people will start playing it backwards and forwards in Windows Media Player Classic. People will watch the footage over and over, trying to derive "deeper" meaning from the toes wiggling the Christmas lights. Their will be a cult following, and a new branch of Philosophy: "GB-Toeism" GB-Toeism would take over the message boards and chat rooms and it'll take over the… Or it can just be a disembodied foot that someone sneaked in while Neal and Cali were shooting. No big conspiracy, but we can always imagine. -Z

Hah, I love the statement about the foot. I was surprised to see it (the foot, it was real) in that brief. I\'m finally up to date and will be following more closely. I always notice when you twitter about the brief and now I can go see it much sooner because I am a completist and need to watch things in order, for the continuity.
Are you on Utterz? I haven\'t seen you there and I think it would be a great mobile blogging service for you to cover on the brief. It is an awesome program and the team there is great. They are from my home state and I met them at Blog World Expo so I may be biased. But the service is awesome and would be a great topic for the brief.
