At the risk of turning off my Windows and Linux friends, I’m over the moon excited about my first Macworld and Steve Jobs keynote. I asked Mr. Keynote attendee, David Pogue for advice. This is our conversation. Sorry Windows people…this next week is probably going to be annoying, unless you want to switch…and I know you do. Go ahead. Let’s get her done. Then we can all just relax and talk about working with an amazing OS.
We’ll be live blogging during the Keynote at www.geekbrief.tv.
We have two meetup oportunities. One is at the Mac Podcaster Meetup on Thursday the 17th, after a panel and audience discussion with Adam Christenson, Dave Hamilton, Victor Cajiao, Leo Laporte, Scott Bourne, and Ken Ray. You have to have a Macworld badge to get into that one. We’ll also be having dinner at In-N-Out Burger Wednesday at 6:00 PM. You can show up there, or if you want the full experience, walk with us from the Moscone Center. We’ll leave at 5:00 PM. Meet us outside at the front of the Moscone Center. It’s a 3 mile walk, so wear comfortable shoes! :) After we eat, we might walk to an Apple Store. All the details are here.
My full Macworld schedule is at geekbrief.tv/macworld. It’ll be constantly updated with information about where we’ll be and what we’ll be doing. You can also follow me on Twitter.com/calilewis for live updates.

No, not freaking balanced! I think there's a certain inevitability that this is the year I'll get a Mac. I can feel it gaining on me like that big rock behind Indiana Jones. I'm not saying I'll "switch", just that I'll broaden my horizons. Although maybe your beloved OS will really win me over. So as a guy surrounded by Windows machines, I'm really looking forward to the next week. I hope you guys have a total blast and watch out for that Reality Distortion Field. (I hear it plays havoc with Wi-Fi.)

Seems like a good time to drop this podcast since I zero interest in Apple or MS products.

Is there any reason for that tone? The sarcasm about being balanced was easy to comprehend. Cali loves all innovative technology no matter the maker. She does not do any bashing on products, only fair criticism. You most likely are a Linux man and as such would be excited about going to a Linux convention. Allow her to be excited about her first Macworld because it is real energy. She believes in their products and that is why "we" love her. Just like her love of going to podcaster meetups. Your childlike " I'm goin to hold my breath until you do what I want you to" is better off at Gizmodo (:P)

So, Cali or Neal, what happened to your CES trip? You said you never left your hotel room? Could you not get a badge to get into the exhibition? Leo was calling it the Crapfest Electronics Show, so I guess you didn't miss much.

The Macbook Pro is a great laptop, to bad it so expensive. If I had one it would be running 3 OS:es WinXP, MAC OSX and Ubuntu. Still knee deep into windows gaming and simracing, (Looking forward to a LAN in March 24H around the Nordsleife.)

Ha! It looked like Pogue was joking when he had the envelope that supposedly had a new mac laptop in it. Given how similar that is to the MacBook Air ad, he had to know about it already, and he was almost telling the truth!
