Great show. I use grab a lot, and am trying to find an application that captures what's happening on your screen into a video. Does anyone have any suggestions?

These are my recommendations for video screen capture software: http://www.dearcali.com/screen-capture-software/

Just when I'm starting to pine for a "Dear Cali", here one is. That was a really great show, especially considering you were shooting in a hotel room. Nice lighting and general look. The Twitter stuff wowed me. You showed me configuration screens and options I don't think I've ever seen before. I know what my project for tonight is going to be. Thanks, as always!

Not to dispute our fearless leader, but Grab can capture to any location and can use about 8-10 picture formats. Use the (free) utility 'Onyx' to configure the options. Onyx is extremely useful and does way more than just this. Check it out!

Great show. I really like the informal setting with Cali curled up in a chair. We can see glitzy sets and lighting on any number of mediocre TV news shows. GeekBrief works because of the human connection we all feel with Cali and Neil. Glad to see you guys are keeping it real!

Hmm, interesting. I've used Onyx before, but not for that and I didn't realize I could. Thanks! :)

For you mac users out there check out a widget called "Screenshot plus" all you need… you can change where you save it too…

Skitch is awesome for the Mac, and its so much more than a screen capture.

To find out the current Apple Screen Capture preferences, type the following in Terminal:-
defaults read com.apple.screencapture
To set save location:-
defaults write com.apple.screencapture location ~/Pictures/
To set save format, e.g. jpg:-
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type jpg
(log out and log back in for changes to take effect).
Or use Onyx GUI to do the same changes.

I think maybe you’ve misunderstood the Twitter @ reply settings. The default setting actually suppresses the @replies of people that you follow if they are replying to another person that you do *not* follow. I don’t think this setting affects whether you are notified when someone you don’t follow replies to you. For notification of those replies, I track @twittername or follow the RSS feed for my replies page (not sure if I can get them in my timeline–people don’t reply to me very often :D).
You can see the full explanation of this setting in Twitter’s support: http://help.twitter.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=85
Thanks for the great show, even when you’re on the road!

I tried to use your discount code for a Nokia N810 on the Canadian store (store.nokia.ca) without much success. The store is in the list from Podshow offers and I tried a few variant of “geekbrieftv” in case there was a missing dot or tv should not be there but I always get the answer that it is an invalid code.
What am I doing wrong?
