Of all my t-shirts, none are currently knife-proof. My Oyster Shucking video suggests that it could be a potential problem. Nihon Uni T-Shirts ARE knife proof to an extent, but they cost $500 each and do not protect against stabs.

What about the proposal from the last Brief?
March 25th, 2008 at 9:14 am
@Li – you can do that from the South Park website
@Lindsay – it hasn’t happened yet

Your shirts may not be knife-proof, but you look fabulous in them Cali.

Anyone else having issues in iTunes?
George, what feed are you subscribed to – small, medium, extra large?
March 25th, 2008 at 11:30 am
I have had no problems getting the briefs through iTunes. I subscribe to the medium feed.
March 25th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
I’ve been getting the Extra Large (GBTV feed) fine.
March 25th, 2008 at 1:49 pm

Do you have a gray circle with an exclamation point beside your subscription? If so, what does it say when you click on it?

I normally watch GBTV – extra large – from the Apple TV but, like George, no update since #329

Cali, maybe you’ve already worked this out, but it looks like the HD and iPod feeds available through the the Apple TV Take 2 interface haven’t updated since #329. I’ve noticed a lag on Take 2 postings, but not this much. Medium feed is at #332.

Oh, it’s Apple TV, then. Okay, I’ll contact Apple tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll get this sorted out soon. Thanks, Dave!

There’s very little that can stop direct stabs that you’d want to wear for any long amount of time. Chain mail is incredibly effective against most small edged weapons, for both stabs and slashes, though a good hard stab will still convey the impact trauma, if not the cutting edge. Chain mail, however, is awfully heavy to wear.
Tactical body armor with extensive trauma plating is effective against knives, but only the sections that have the steel or ceramic trauma plate. Otherwise, Spectra and Kevlar fiber are defeated by knife stabs, especially from large edged weapons like swords or arrows.
Some of the more creative folks have figured out that as a replacement for lacquered bamboo, which is expensive, you can actually construct historically accurate and effective samurai-style armor out of PVC. PVC is a little lighter, a lot cheaper, and effective against slashes and some stabs, though against spears and arrows, it’s still compromised.

Well then, just call me granpa also, because I still have the reel to reel tape recorder I found at a garage sale a couple of years ago, and despite the age of the tape, it still sounds good.

My Interceptor Body Armor (IBA) I wear here in Iraq is keen on Knives (so long as you don’t catch me in the armpit or something) and a whole lot of ordnance. But it also weights 30 pounds. :)
Hey Cali, What the heck we’re they saying was Sexy in the blooper at the end of #333? You made me curious.

This is quite a up-to-date information. I think I’ll share it on Digg.
