Amazon lowered the price of the Kindle by $40. I get asked on a regular basis if I would recommend it. Yes! It has hardware design flaws, but the reading experience is addictive.
The TelePrompTer company I’ve used since the first year of GeekBrief.TV, just released a new version, the ProPrompter HD.
LaptopMag.com had an interesting interview with Mary Lou Jepsen. She gave a bit of insight into what they’re working on for the OLPC v2. Looks like they’re integrating haptic technology.
I’m excited about the possibilities of an application called AnswerOil. It’s an interactive tool to help narrow down shopping choices quickly. They’re licensing the technology to online stores, so we don’t get to really use it unless companies adopt it. You can experience the demo here.
UPDATE: I was just contacted on September 24th, 2008 by the guys behind AnswerOil. They say that licensing is “only one aspect of our business model; we have a website called Mology (wwww.mology.com) where US shoppers can already use AnswerOil to find and buy cameras via Amazon.com.” Options in addition to the camera selector will be added soon.
DimP is an experimental video player that allows viewers to scrub through video by dragging moving objects on the screen You can download a DimP player for Windows here.

Cali, I love the BigTrip babydoll! I need to buy one. :) :)

“Coffee: Because it doesn’t get the credit it deserves” haha. I loved that. I know you guys put funny little credits into the shows in the past, but this has got to be one of my favorites.
Answer Oil is a great idea, but I think they should have the product finder as a standalone on their site itself.

FYI: wrong video (of brief 365) in this post.
I went here to tell you, that I love the little graphic (triggered by ⌘G) in iTunes that is shown as a summary of a selected video. In brief 366 you talk about Kindle and you, that kindle and weird hand from your back can be seen in iTunes on the preview pic :)
I hope I can post images in comments, but just in case I don’t, here it is :)
Great brief, good to see you two on action again.

Loved the touchscreen laptop… pretty insane and can’t wait to get my HANDS on one… ;) Sorry.
Loved, also, how you gave COFFEE IT’S CREDIT! Woot!

LOVE the “Coffee: Because it doesn’t get the credit it deserves” :D. Amazon’s Kindle(tm) is a promising product, but let us not forget Project Gutenberg and the Online Books Initiative which provides plain-text copy of literary classics that can easily be read and downloaded with most desktop, mobile and portable devices.
^-^~

What have you got against Nicholas Negroponte?

I use your GB1 code every time I make any kind of transaction on Godaddy because I love you and Neil. ;-) Also because it’s so damn easy to remember… lol!

Hey Cali,
There is a tool that is MUCH better than answeroil already on the net. It is available free at the Digital Photography Review website. In addition to the feature comparison… it also has extensive reviews of each camera. (And it also allows you to compare discontinued models… in case you wish to make your purchase on ebay, etc.)

Cheers,
Glenn

Darn…beat me to it….was about to lament that Answeroil wasn’t real….because I was hoping that it might let me search for digital cameras better than I do now using dpreview’s digital camera features search….
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp
There are just some nuances in features that the tool just doesn’t quite refine into….so often its either, here’s the first 10 results…or there were no results.
I guess I’m kind of picky on what cameras I’d like to consider getting as successors to my current and 7th digital camera.

I’ve gotta say that I really enjoy the show, but I just had to drop a comment when I saw you giving coffee the credit it deserves. I consider coffee one of the fundamental moving forces of my business, and I know I’m not alone.
Absolutely love the fun in the credits. Keep up the great work.
