I remember a couple of months back you tweeted about this guy.

I went to watch him live and was blown away how he would play all these songs on call with no prep.

I just bought his mp3 album on CDbaby. I love the fact that this guy gets the fact that music should be DRM free.

It was 10$ definately well spent. thanks for introducing me to him. And for anyone who hasn’t gotten this album DO SO!! lol

I think Gary Krakow had some vision by sayong that Apple has to “bite the bullet”. Apple clearly wants to get into RIM’s market share of business phones, especially with the Microsoft Exchange compatibility. When people say things like Steve Jobs needs to put Blackberry on the iPhone, you should step back and understand the general meaning, and not necessarily take it literally.

What a powerful song and great camera work.

Geoff is such a talented musician, and I like seeing all of his work in this social networking “industry”.

On a separate note:
I love the show like so many people. I was wondering what your take on comments are? I mean, with your viewership you should have tons of comments, but I believe that with all of the pod catchers (iTunes, etc) out there, people don’t have the quick ability to comment.

I posted about this feature on my blog, and would like to see if we could get iTunes to incorporate this feature.

I remember hearing someone mention the World Wide Web as “… a last haven for scoundrels.” and behavior-wise there seems to be some truth in that. I tend to avoid web boards and discussions (except for this one) because of all the mean-spiritedness and I found myself stepping into that puddle when someone posted a personal attack against Cali and I replied to the commenter as to whether or not someone had ruined his breakfast that morning.

I’d like to think that my comment might have gotten a giggle or two, but that doesn’t make it any less inappropriate and I still owe an apology for posting it.

This is a great message, especially for our young people. I teach computer to grades K-8. In the upper grades, I teach a unit on online safety and discuss online communities in grades 7-8. I plan to use this in my lessons. Thanks, Geoff, Jason and Cali. You rock!!

Hi, I am a GeekBrief subscriber for a really long time, and I absolutely love the work of Cali and Neil.
I pretty much agree with you guys most of the time, that’s why I really didn’t understand the choice for this brief.

Don’t get me wrong, I really liked the video. Very well done, I enjoyed it, but the song just seemed to me like a poor attempt to create an ‘internet ballad’, and I don’t see how is that more relevant than giving us some great daily Cali news.

I know that every now and then you have special shows that are about an specific subject, or showing a video, but I’m just leaving my opinion here about this GeekBrief 401 that disappointed me.

And please don’t take this as an example of a “nasty comment”, just my opinion.

Wow! I bought the digital album of Ones and 0s and already liked the song but the video goes to the heart!
Geoff has made me smile with Hello, Hello and Digg the Code (you guys look like you had to much fun doing that one) and the fire place screensaver last Christmas really brought my family warm holiday feelings…. this video just matched all of these!
Thank you for sharing this Cali, I truly enjoyed this and I’m going to twitter Geoff and tell so too!

Great song and video. Excellent message too.
I have been living part of my life online for years now, since the days of bulletin boards, and pipeline text browsers, and since day one, the meaness that comes with a little “distance” and especially anonymity is amazing. Lots of people with pent up hostility given a place to express it– it is a fact that some people love social networking because it lets them unleash this hostility and meaness, they get off on reactions of nice folks (the vast majority of us). Nothing wrong with tough criticism, but everything wrong with meaness and way out of line ridicule.

Okay, that was amazing. Tonight’s planned post on GadgetyTech.com is getting pushed off and this is going up instead.
