I asked for video of Microsoft’s Sphere at the Research Faculty Summit. Todd Bishop provided it.

Dell’s Studio Hybrid Desktop PCs provide a design alternative to the Mac Mini. You get your choice of 6 color sleeves or a bamboo sleeve.

Brando released the SATA HDD Multimedia Dock, which lets you connect it to a TV. It’s a great price for a media center, even if it is a little unattractive.

Slydial gives you the option of calling someone and going straight to their voicemail so you don’t have to talk to them. People like Louise and Neal are going to love this!

I keep talking about Bacon Tech, and now we have some real bacon tech. The Wake ‘n’ Bake Alarm Clock will actually cook your bacon in the morning and wake you up happy.

Ahh, Cali you sung my Anthem “Little Boxes on the hillside” my Little Boxes playlist http://www.seeqpod.net/search/?plid=662ae87815

Regarding the sphere, I’m not sure I agree. It’s pretty cool, but I still don’t see how it would be more useful than a flat touchscreen. Though, I can see it as an attraction getter though.

The new Dell pc’s are impressive. I’d still rather have a mac mini mainly because I want OS X, but these things are breaching price points for our thin clients at work… very interesting.

And were you singing the theme song for Weeds at the end there… =) Or is that song used elsewhere too, heh.

And I, too, am a Baconaholic.

Nice Idea with the Bacon Clock, but:
Is it smart to leave frozen meat out all night long?

I’m surprised you could wear a NeoCube that close to your mic without throwing off the pickup. And, before you have a Geek Brief Sleeping Lab, don’t you need to, you know, sleep?

Is it me or does the Surface Sphere invoke memories of “The Wizard of Oz”? I wonder if he can find Dorothy in that thing.

While Dell is a respectable manufacturer of dependable desktop PCs, as long as they continue to try to emulate Apple in design concepts and technological innovation, they will always come up a day late and a dollar short in terms with competing with the Mac design team.

If they wish to level with playing field with their Cupertino, CA competitors in terms of aesthetics and innovation, they should strive for aesthetic and innovative designs of their own. There’s always a possibility Dell just might come up with the next new direction in computer design.

Those who sneer at the Drobo should remember how we geeks are always reminding the public at large to back up their data. Remember “Copy to a floppy and copy that floppy?” The Drobo makes it hard for a user NOT to back up their data and warns them BEFORE a failure occurs. ^..^~

Bacon Alert!! Are you looking for volunteers for your sleeping lab? I can sleep for England!

sweet! I just had bacon for breakfast and lunch today! (that is because I am saving the lamp chop for the big grilling party tonight!)

I do think the media dock is a cool idea. Especially a decent SATA enclosure is already at $80 range. I checked out the show note, and the remote doesn’t look too hot, but having a remote is nice! However, there is no HDMI nor optical out in today’s HD society is a bummer. Also, unless some one make some pretty sexy internal drive as it naked form, it will be hard to let a HDD just hang out with its friend in the media room, say macPro, PS3, Bravia, receivers and bose speakers? I think we have pass the age of cheesy clear hard plastic alarm clock, seeing all the green circuit board exposing themselves… But for $60 before the $25 shipping cost, it is not a bad idea overall, especially it can save some space form a full size computer and its million cables jab in its back…

Loving the Neocube neckless. I haven’t seen you on bts in awhile. Hope you guys are doing well. I’m still watching the Briefs though ;)

In regards to the Multimedia Dock, after receiving the Dock, it has the model number on EN391TV, made by Odsonic. If you search for EN391, you should be able to find it elsewhere. I stumbled upon PacificGeek.com having it, but for $31 + 11 S&H (with over 230 in stock as of this posting), so about half the price as ordering it from Hong Kong!
