I have about 50 domains which are mostly business related. Several are names that I just wanted to retain control “just in case” because they are variations of my main site.

I must admit that several of the domain names I own have been purchased on a whim when Cali gave a GoDaddy plug, and most of those just forward to Geekbrief.tv. like ShinyHappyTechNews.com…….I just like Neal and Luria and appreciate the hard work they put into the podcasts.

Its a few days late, but from what I know about Panasonic, the “Three Sacred Treasures” bit is kind of a play on what they built their name on back and what Japanese consumers mostly wanted in the 1950s, refrigerators, washing machines and TVs.

So in this case, the modern “Three Sacred Treasures” are Blu-Ray, High quality sound, and a Big-Screen TV.

I just counted them up, and I personally own 39 domains across 3 registrars. Most have content, but some I have been holding onto because I plan to do something, and that something never seems to materialize.

We have about 12-15 domain names that we have purchased using GBx codes. We also use lots of other services from GoDaddy, and we use the codes for as well. Thanks for providing them… :-)

We run a small website design company and we are always looking at shiny, happy, new technology. Woopra is very cool and we jumped on that band wagon right away.

Anyway, love the show have watched since the early episodes. I am also a big fan of the “big trip” idea, two more years of school for my son and we plan on taking the business on the road as well. We are waiting and watching to see how it all turns out for you.

I bought two domains ‘just in case’, but since I don’t know waht I’m doing they are not hosted.

Used your code for one, but used Chris P’s for the other.

Godaddy has some of the best costumer support I have ever experienced! I don’t even host my sites right now, but they are constantly calling and making sure everything is okay. Not in an annoying way. They seem genuine.

I just don’t understand why internet only sites seem to be the best with costumers nowadays.

Love the domo from #412. Its great that I have a resource for real sci-fi/tech news with your site.

Hi Cali,

I don’t know how many domains I have under my control.
Personally I think I own under 30

But, for some of my projects, (I do not want to do SPAM, so I will not mention all the project names).

I will say:

- 80 for project X based in Switzerland
- more than 300 for another Canadian based project
- arround 125 for a project based in Paris
- and controlling more than 300 in a Non-profit project where we help other non-profit with internet related things… (well in that case those domains doesn’t belong to us)

Then smaller projects normally has between 4 and 15 domains .COM/.NET/.ORG, minimum, and then name (s/Z, plurarls… variations…

Note: all those domains names are not for sell, we are using it all of them.

As of today my company owns 317 domains. Several for turf protection, we also purchase .net, .org, .name, etc.

GoDaddy loves me and I have my personal concierge who calls periodically. (No it’s not Danica, I can wish…)

BTW, I have 383 expired domains, trying to save money, you know.

I own four domains at the moment and have owned two others in the past. As a cash-strapped two-job (plus writing and Web work) guy with a two year old, it’s hard for me to justify more than that. But every once in a while I think about picking up a new one to try out the Go Daddy experience (I use Name Bargain now).

you have 100 domains? Why?

I have six or seven, two for me, one for my kid, and others are vanity domains for friends.

Most busineses need to cover the TLDs, so they have .com, .net, etc. but that is mostly due to Network Solution’s greed.
