heh, your comedic bada bing was so cheesy it was funny =)

As for photokina, I dunno if you saw this from olympus: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0809/08092208olympus_micro_four_thirds.asp but it has the potential to really hit the market the Canon G9/G10 dominate. It is far smaller than lugging an SLR around, but still retains some interchangeable lenses. The other aspect is the micro 4/3’s framework can lead to something closer to the G9/G10 in a fixed “P&S” style, but be vastly better in IQ.

And if your eeepc hackintosh works, I’m ditching my plans for the dell mini 9 (which I believe is a better size for these “netbooks” but I’ll sacrifice it if I can get OS X on it)

That was the funniest geekbrief I’ve seen, I loved it.

they should all include sound effects, they make life so much more interesting…

  3. Kirby Says:

    he he…you said cymbals.

  4. dbkguy Says:

OK, that was really geeky, it a funny kind of way.

Loved it. Great seeing you have some fun.

  5. Matthew Says:

Ok, I gotta say, Luria reminded me so much of what my fiance’ would have said had I offered her that shirt.. “no, ’cause you’ll always want to play the cymbals!” That was hilarious!

  7. Nate Smith Says:

Ok, I’ll be honest, that was a good show but I could have really used a little more cowbell!

  8. TW Moore Says:

That was a great episode. Your timing was great. Loved the tongue in cheek. Loved the Cowbell. Loved the lighter. I thought the cymbal comment was hilarious!

    Nice job.

    Tim

P.S. – I agree with Nate. I GOTTA HAVE MORE COWBELL!! (That was one of the first apps I put on my Touch.)

  9. iPhreak Says:

Hi Cali, It’s 1am and I just got home from the Photokina….
There was a ton of stuff to see, I’m sure we didn’t see it all.
I had fun playing with Canons new 5D Mk2. Adobe had some cool demos.
I don’t remember really seeing anything that stands out, it was my first time and I just had fun seeing all the geek and non geek toys. One thing that sticks out in my head is the that I’m interested in is the JOBO photo GPS. http://www.jobo.com. It’s a new geo-data device that sits in the hot shoe of your camera and only captures the gps info when you take a photo. Mac software is coming out in Jan for it..

Thanks for a great show as always!!

    Hi Cali,
I am about to buy an EeePC but as you said that the new 901 will have 3G, Will Asus also upgrade the 1000H and add 3G support. ? If so, I’ll wait for some time and get the 1000H with 3G.

    Thanks.

PS: Checkout MacEee.com for Hackint0sh resource on EeePC

Thanks for brightening up my day!

  13. recyclepile Says:

Just a quick note: that shade of red is great on you!

    More cowbell.

  14. Keith Says:

I guess I’m just dense, but the cymbalism of the t-shirt escapes me.

  15. Japh Says:

    Hey Cali,
Great podcast, what model EeePC are you going to try out the Hackintosh distro on?
I’ve been trying to install it on a desktop PC at the moment… no joy so far though :(

  16. Graham Tappenden Says:

    Hi Cali,

here is another new item from Photokina: http://make.tv/

It it is flash-based video-editing suite that allows you to combine cameras across multiple locations.

Might be useful for video interviews?

  17. Cali Lewis Says:

    @Japh It’s a 4G Surf

  18. Dustin Sherrill Says:

This is going down as one of my all time favorite episodes. I think it was the cowbell. Thanks!
