Loved the mad dash to the printer and back again.

Ummm?… Has no one ever heard of “Print Selection”? You can do it in both Mac and Windows. All you do is highlight what you want to print (on a web page, document, etc) and when you get to the print dialog box, choose to print “Selection” and it will only print what you high lighted. This has been built into both Windows and Macs for longer than I can remember.

Firefox also has the print selection feature.

Did I miss something or did someone forget to do some editing?

I too am a bit of a geek when it comes to indoor RC helicopters. I’ve had and crashed several. So I was intrigued enough to purchase the Wow Wee Bladestar you mentioned on a recent GB. I hope your luck turned out better than mine. I shouldn’t probably say this, but mine performed nothing like the “demo” video. Even with the thing hovering directly in front of me I couldn’t get the directional controls to do anything. Anyway, I won’t clutter your space here, but I’m returning it and left a full review on Epinions.

The thing with Print Selection in Firefox and other things is that it is somewhat difficult to print exactly what you want and remove backgrounds. This lets you pick and choose what you want instead of having to highlight everything you want printed, which could be difficult or impossible depending on what you want printed.
Another option is GreenPrint. It’s a little utility (and they have a beta for Mac OSX 10.5) that installs itself as a printer. You then select your printer in the utility, and when you print something, the utility starts up and then lets you select which pages, images, text, etc you want just like the website you mentioned. The advantage is that it also works for word documents and other stuff instead of just webpages. It does some other things like keeping track of pages saved, and also includes a pdf writer if you want to convert your document to a pdf instead of printing it. I’ve used the windows version before and it works really well, and I just got a new mac but haven’t tried the beta for mac yet.

I like the new Sony reader, but am also very interested in the new iRex Reader 1000. Do you plan to review it in the near future?

Tried to go to nerdgirls.com, but it is blocked by our school’s net filter. Reason for the block is given as “site contains pornographic or mature material”. Oops.

Hmm.. now there’s a dedicated N95 feed that works. Guess it was set up around episode 425. Now to get caught up….
October 6th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Tom, the N95 feed has been available for a long time. Sorry you needed it and are just now finding it! :)

I am interested in the Sony’s new e-book reader but am wondering if the new iRex Reader 1000 is a more functional tool for the business minded buyer. Do you by chance have plans to review the iRex model or have you already?

Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.
