Shownotes:
Google Earth is now available for the iPhone, and it’s a great experience. For more iPhone talk, head on over to iCali.tv.
Qik released alpha versions for the BlackBerry Pearl 8120, BlackBerry Pearl 8130, the Blackberry Curve 8320, and the BlackBerry Bold. You can download from qik.com/sign_up. If you’re not aware of Qik, it’s a live streaming service from mobile phones. My Qik page is qik.com/cali.
Netflix streaming will work on Macs by the end of the year. This will probably cause me to switch from my loyalty to Blockbuster.
The Griffin AirCurve amplifies audio from your iPhone. You can charge it as well by feeding a cable through the bottom.
Thanks to the HP MediaSmart Server for supporting The Brief. To find out where you can order one, click here.

Unfortunately, Netflix streaming isn’t working for me on my iMac 20″ yet. Maybe I am one of those poor saps that has to wait until the end of the year?? Hmm, I hope it gets going soon.
Also, when are we going to see Qik for the iPhone to go public? I know its out there now cause Chris Pirillo has it. I wish I had it now.

I always feel a bit of trepidation when an established app is ported to the iPhone, because the results are often a bit disappointing. But I’m really impressed by Google Earth. Just the fact that they managed to keep the basic look and feel, and maintain the experience of using it from the larger platform to the iPhone is noteworthy. I think this will earn a place on my first screen.
The AirCurve is just plain cool. It’s good to see people are still able to bring unexpected functionality to something as well worn as an iPhone dock.

Great show as always and thanks for the feature on the Griffin AirCurve!
I read about it but after hearing it and seeing it on your show, I’m buying one now.

Great show, and awesome new set!
I’ve always had the idea of making a show that looks like the “Today Show” NewsDesk. I know it may be hard to do it live, but projecting graphics onto a back TV would be awesome!
