I am not sure why this tethering is such news item. The iPhone could do this before. You can also jailbreak your iPhone and install PDANet and you can do this without having to pay $30 a month.

I guess it's a lazy tax.

Well, only after AT&T approves Tethering, Apple will allow tethering apps into the AppStore. Carriers in countries like India have tethering plans but iPhone users cannot use tethering because there are no apps allowed into the AppStore.

So, I hope AT&T approves tethering soon and we get apps for tethering in the AppStore. Or maybe, Apple can make an app for it like they make the Remote app.

Using the iPhone to surf on my PowerBook will be a good backup plan. Can't wait to see it approved.

Is there anything similar to the vidabox in a linux or mac configuration.

I have a 2 TB raid running on a old mirror door, and looking to upgrade.I am out of space, I never really liked stuffing 4 hard drives in the mirror door anyway, figured I am overloading the powersupply. Anyway I looked at setting up my own rack server, for decent storage, tape backup and decent switches it came to over $40,000! I don't have that kind of cash, but enterprise level storage is probably a little overkill. I've looked at the NAS/Drobo rout the only problem I have with going with a solution like that is I hook my apple TV to it, does the iTunes server do video? Can I hook it to an Apple TV. I am not crazy about the HP media smart server ether... Maybe an issue of home based servers in an ever growing need to access ripped data.
Gotta love handbrake!

Love the show, my faience who's not a geek watches it with me at night, thinks its fun.

Thanks

Hi Cali

I'm a big fan and watch the show on daily basis. On most cases I love the wat you produce it and the way you use animations and stuff. However The animation you used on the lower 3rd of the screen during the VidaBox segment was one of the most annoying thing I ever seen. My eyes still hurt :) It was just like watching those motion blur "Feeling Tired" T-Shirts
