Shownotes:
This is part 3, the final part of my conversation with Leo Laporte at the TWiT Cottage. This part of our chat might not be interesting to most Geek Briefers because it’s very “inside baseball.” I asked Leo to talk about how he thinks the economic slowdown might impact new media, especially as it relates to people just getting started. He has hope that it’s ultimately good for new media because advertising on new media is proven to be extremely effective. If you’re interested in the topic, I think you’ll enjoy Leo’s insight. Otherwise, feel free to skip this one (after downloading it.) :)

I was listening to this podcast as you were talking about webcasting. We (www.omnitube.com) are working on this as well for costumers. But I think that podcasting would still be the way to go even with the webcasting. You are reaching a international crowd with your podcast, but if you go webcast only, people in other parts of the world will not stay up in to the night. Podcast is so good, you can look at it wan you are ready, not wan the broadcaster is ready.
PS: I love your show.

Just wanted to say I really like these interviews you’ve done with Leo. I’m also a big TWiT fan and like to see you two together. Maybe you could do more like this in the future?

Thanks for posting this interview. The whole discussion on live versus on-demand is really interesting. We work with business customers to produce web seminars, and have increasingly been delivering webinars for on-demand delivery. As Jacco suggests, on-demand has some advantages. Still, live broadcasts get people in the habit of tuning in for fresh content, and with the free streaming sites cost is greatly reduced. It will be interesting to see how programs like yours gain the most traction. Keep up the good work.

Well done guys. I follow Leo’s work and TWiT and found it good to see how some of his setup comes together. Great work and keep it coming!
