How do you know how Imation is affordable when your link doesn't list a price?

Cali,
We first discovered you last summer on the Drobo website, excitedly describing the virtues of Drobo. One of my students commented "wow, that girl has had too much caffeine". Since then we have become regular visitors to Geekbrief, and have become accustomed to your wonderful rapid-fire delivery. We recently revisited Drobo, as part of our discussion on hard drive RAIDs, and your presentation seemed really tame and slow, compared to your "dailys". Once you shake your cold, we expect to see the slightly hyperactive Cali that we have come to know and love. (Try some chamomile tea with honey and lemon, it won't help your cold, but it is like getting a nice warm hug).

I too am on the quest to find the Imation Wireless Projection Link. No one seems to stock it. I am guessing it is new on the market. I am waiting for a response from Imation to where it can be purchased. D-Link has a similar project but it requires drivers.

BTW Love the show.

Yes, I talked slower because I'm sick. I can hardly breathe and talk at the same time. :) That's why I didn't do a show on Tuesday.

Maybe it was your cold, or maybe you're trying to follow some statements from "traditional-news-watching people," but you seemed much slower today. I hope this is just from the cold because it just doesn't seem like the Cali we love when you go that slow.

I enjoy your fast pace. Those who can't catch it all should just listen faster! :)

I hope you're feeling better soon, Cali! I recommend hot orange-flavored tea sweetened with honey.

OOOPS !!! Sorry -the unit I used recently was the Presto WMS 100 from NewSoft.
Same basic concept, different company. Perhaps the Imation design would have done what I wanted. http://www.newsoftinc.com/products/product-main.asp?productid=NAI0032

I had a chance to use the Imation projection gizmo at a recent conference. The interface was easy to install and the image was good, but I did have some issues that I hope get fixed in future upgrades:

1) I use Keynote and the Imation remote unit didn't allow me to see the Presenter Screen - so all my notes and the benefit of seeing the next slide were lost. It emulated my screen, and I needed something that would become the second screen.

2) There was a rather troublesome delay between the time I pressed the button and the slide came up. It changed instantly on my Mac but took as long as 2-3 seconds to change on the screen.

We did call the company and their help desk was eager to find a solution - so I give them credit for that.

Dear Cali,

I love your show.
The only thing I wished that would changed, happened in episode 472. You talked slower.
Although you always talk clearly, I always felt like you're in a hurry.
I find much more enjoyable.

Warm regards,
Marlon Simons

Word Lily, the D90 video is great. the 5D just pushes it to 1080p. Given they are both 1st generation video on dSLR, it's probably comparable when both at 720p. I think you'll get a lot of awkward use from both though because traditionally with video, we have a swivel LCD we can work from. Don at smugmug has a sample video here@1080p (gotta follow the links, the video is massive): http://blogs.smugmug.com/don/2008/11/30/first-1080p-video-from-canons-new-5d-mkii-amazing/

That wireless link is pretty nifty. Too bad no widescreen support. We have something similar at work, and works on your wifi card. unfortunately, you need software to make a link, and 2, you lose your wifi if you need to surf the net too. I'll have to look into this for one of our conference rooms, it may have potential

I've been wondering why you haven't talked about the Nikon D90, which is apparently the first SLR released that shoots HD video? Especially since you've historically shot Nikon ... Maybe this is a stupid question, but how does it compare the the Canon you've been raving about?
