Shownotes:
2009 will be Apple’s last year exhibiting at Macworld. The shocker announcement also lets us know there will be no Steve Jobs on stage at this year’s keynote. Phil Schiller will be taking his place.
CBS will be redeveloping TV.com, an asset they bought in the CNet deal. TV.com will be competing with Hulu.
I asked for your opinions on Gamerox. It’s a chair meant to provide health benefits to kids playing games. What do you guys think? Leave a comment below.

I too was a bit devastated when I read in the WSJ that Steve Jobs and Apple pulling out of MacWorld. We should petition for Steve to do the last MacWorld instead of Phil. Hoping not health related as rumors suggest.
Although my son is 2 years old, he would love that chair – talk about geek, this kid can use an iPhone like a pro…. its the Geek gene
IKEA is innovative…interetsing to watch the line as you suggested.

I totally agree, Natali Del Conte was worth a huge portion of that buyout.
Very sad that jobs won’t be doing the keynote. It just won’t be the same without him.

Black sweater makes for poor video. Should have at least some jewlery (hint, hint Neal). Or something to break up the big black void where Cali’s body goes.

Gotta love Leo, he’s always on the ball.
December 17th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
I have used a inflatable ball as a computer chair for about 5 years now and it really does make a difference for long hours of desk use. I read the article about the Gamerox chair the other day and got rather excited. I am not sure if it will completely catch on in the console gaming market but I would love to try one as my computer chair instead of the ball for a bit.

As someone who’s been to multiple MWSFs, I will miss this. I hope they at least let us keep WWDC.
That being said, this is a logical move. Steve Jobs needs less publicity now. He’ll probably retire in 5 years, and people need to realize that Apple is no longer Steve Jobs. He is a great leader, but Apple is a collective.

Watched the show – This January I will be going to my first MacWorld Expo. I was hoping to see Steve Jobs and experience “the reality distortion field.” Well, I guess, all things must come to an end.
One side thought, when I am viewing the show in full screen mode. A green stripe appears on the right side of the screen. It is not a solid strip but a alternating green and black stripe. In general, it appears green and its about an eighth of an Inch wide on a 24 Inch iMac.

I think the Gamerox chair would only encourage those people that incessantly move, tilt, and turn when playing video games on a stationary screen. I tend to think that this generally shows a lack of physical control that a player can’t keep their body still.

I’ve been tracking back, reading show-notes and listening up with GBTV pod-casts via my little Nokia N800. Whatever the case may be with Steve Jobs and Apple, please be present and et your opinions and sentiments be known at MacWorld. Because the MacWorld vendors listened to people like Adam, Leo, Neal and yourself, we have cool stuff like BBEdit, NiftyTelnet SSH, LogicPro headsets and accessories, and this newly-restored PowerBook G3 (FireWire), aptly named “Methuselah” for her longevity. ^..^~
