Shownotes:
Jamo announced the A804 wall mounted surround sound speaker. It’s meant to look good beside a flat panel, and give you some flexibility.
Monoprice is making a mini display port to HDMI adapter. It won’t deliver copy protected content or sound, though.
The Addonics NAS Adapter turns a USB drive in NAS, and it only costs $55.
If you do a lot of Powerpoint presentations, you’ll be happy to hear about iSpring Free. It turns the presentation into a Flash movie that you can embed into a blog post and share.
Do you follow Dell on Twitter? Lots of people do and Dell says Twitter has produced $1 million through sale alerts. Twitter is becoming a channel companies can’t afford to ignore. Decide which alerts you want from Dell here.

sorry, I don’t have a witty comment or helpful feedback, but I’ve been watching GB for weeks now, and I just have to say I think Cali Lewis is Beautiful with a capital ‘B’!

I wonder what an Addonics NAS would do if attached to a USB Drobo? Would it effectively replace a DroboShare? Might be worth $55 to find out.

Jamo’s actually pronounced Yah Mo. I’ve had a set of Jamo Art speakers since high school and they still sound great fifteen years later!

DavePeterson,
I don’t see why it wouldn’t replace the Droboshare. Wouldn’t that save a lot of money for the same functionality? Can anyone confirm that it works? Thanks, Andy

Might work with Drobo, but is only 100Mb not gigabit – trust me, you want gigabit network speed.

Anybody know the name of the song they play at the end of the show?
December 19th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Drew, the name of the song is “Some Christmas Huggin’ and Kissin’” by Geoff Smith. Available at iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=270002180&s=143441

I see Chad beat me to the punch, but yes, “Jamo” is pronounced YAH-mo. Danish company, so the ‘J’ is pronounced like a ‘y’ sound ;)

I am wondering where you got the impression that the monoprice cable won’t deliver high def content?
The electronista article that was shown as a graphic during the show mentions that an analog VGA connection won’t support high def content, but doesn’t say that the MDP to HDMI cable would be subject to those restrictions…
Is there another article that you are referencing that does say the monoprice cable will have such a restriction? I do not see why they would remove a part of the standard interface, since the command channel is required to query panel size.

I see that several people have corrected the pronunciation of ‘jamo’, i do home theater and these are my preferred speakers, it is made by a danish company, you should check into some of their ipod docks as well, awesome sounding machines, gives bose a run for its money, also jamo is now owned by klipsch. check out the i200 i have two of these, and also check out the i300.

I can’t wait for the mdp-hdm adapter. while the DP spec does support sound (several sites/blogs are saying otherwise, http://www.vesa.org/press/displayportaug.htm ), it’s just that Apple/Nvidia didn’t enable it on their port. Apparently this is a bit of a problem with the video card manufacturers… but it probably has it’s source from another problem: Hollywood.
