Shownotes:
On February 9th, Amazon is holding a press conference. We’re expecting to see version 2 of the Kindle, and I’m hoping it will look something like this.
Gmail announced Offline Mode finally! More details here.
The Verizon Hub is a VoIP phone meant to help your family manage their lives. It has visual voicemail, contact list management, text message calendar alerts and it’s all managed on a color touch screen.
I’ve been playing with the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen the past couple weeks. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a pen and special paper that syncronizes audio with your notes. Watch the video for a demo!
You can save money on domain name registrations and renewals from GoDaddy.com with discount codes GB1, GB2 and GB3. For an explanation of each code, click here. Thanks to Steve for using promo code GB3 to register his domain name, LittleRockHelpDesk.com!

I’m also a big user of Google Calendar so hopefully that will have an offline mode as well.
I’ve been looking at those Smartpens but I’m still not clear on functionality. I’d vote to see a more in depth demo if there’s interest.
I’m normally not an early adopter but as soon as the Kindle 2 is announced I’m going to preorder!

I love the Smartpen and have been impressed that it actually works the way it’s advertised. I wish I had more opportunity to use it (recording devices are machina non grata in my secured office), but I totally admire the innovative technology involved.

I stopped using pen and paper since I got my netbook. Its 8 inches (smaller than my writing pad) and around 1 kg. I use Evernote to sync my notes across all my computers (Mac mini, MacBook, Windows Computer, Another windows notebook.)

I was just wondering why did you start writing your keynotes at the bottom of the page when demoing the SmartPen? Any special reason for that or is it just your preference to start at the bottom?
Oh yea Cali I finally bought my first Mac, after 25 yrs as a PC user. You have done it again, converted another PC to MAC.

I’m still angry at livescribe for not replying to my emails, also, its impossible to get hold of one of these in the UK without being scammed.
Having Dyslexia this /would/ be perfect for me as I can talk as I write and give the paper copy to my teacher while keeping the pen with a electronic copy and my audio notes on it.
(Before anyone says use a netbook, I already do but its hard to do mathematical simultaneous algebraic equations on a netbook)

@Guy I wrote at the bottom of the page for the sake of the shot. :)
