GBTV #533 | Flying Car, PowerVR SGX543MP, Psystar Open(3) Hackintosh, Pandora for BlackBerry, IE8

Shownotes:

The Terrafugia flying car has flown. It’s called the Transition Roadable Aircraft Proof of Concept and we have video of it flying, although the video we have doesn’t show it flying very high or for very long.

Imagination Technologies created the chip that powers the iPhone and their new chip, the PowerVR SGX543MP will support from two to sixteen cores. That means future portables with more immersive gaming, photo-realistic graphics and HD video.

Psystar is selling a new hackintosh called the Open(3).

Pandora is now available for BlackBerry.

Microsoft released IE8.

I have been trying all the verisons of all web browsers, both on my Linux and Windows boxes. Firefox 3.1/3.5 (whatever it is now going to be) is faster loading thank god becasue I have been testing IE 8 for a while on Windows 7 and XP. The realsed version is actully really good, and you actully feel how much faster it is. But but also Safari beta is alright too, espeically since it looks much more pollished, but as always I am staying with Firefox.

Yes I am a windows user and did download the new internet explorer 8 and it is a step in the right direction and much faster but I still use chrome the most.

IE8 is good but some apps I use with active x have stopped working, such as bitdefender online scan. Not sure how to assign active x properties to IE 8 to make it work again.

I think companies with active x websites should make sure their sites are upto date with Microsoft if they want to stay in with the competetion. It doesn’t really matter too much as now I use Kaspersky free online virus scanner and does a good job anyway.

To be honest I have no clue on security issues, oh well never mind.
