Shownotes:
We’ve talked about WolframAlpha before . It soft launched over the weekend. The goal of WolframAlpha is to provide you with answers to your search queries rather than results that will provide you answers.
Acer announced two new netbooks, the A0751h and AOD250 with full size keyboard, between four and eight hours of battery life, and multi-touch gesture ability.
Toshiba’s Portege R600-ST4203 has a 512GB solid state drive, 3GB of RAM, and Wireless N, but it’s priced at $3500.
The Casio EX-FS10 is a point and shoot camera that captures video at 1,000 frames per second, and shoots 9 megapixel stills. It costs $300. You can see an indepth review and images at PhotographyBlog.com.
You can save money on domain name registrations and renewals from GoDaddy.com with discount codes GB1, GB2 and GB3. For an explanation of each code, click here. Adam used my promo code GB1 to save money when he registered the name VacancyMedia.com at GoDaddy.com.

Well, I just ordered the Casio EX-FC100 which is slightly bigger than the one you featured on the show. We’ll see how the high speed video works soon enough!

Nice update! Good to know I can do my own “TimeWarp” on the cheap.
…but “not thinking about….” WHAT!? To be continued in the next episode!?
Thanks Cali,

The Acer line of portables is a popular one with the local g33k community. 3500 USD would buy a handsomely configured MacBook Pro, a year’s worth of cellular Internet access and then some. Since I don’t like to store a lot of data on the same HD that runs my machine, I’d have no need for a HD as big as the Toshiba’s. That’s just ludicrously TOO big for most purposes. The audio and video quality of this GeekBrief episode is quite superb.
