Shownotes:
How cool would this be to have on the GeekBrief.TV set??? It’s an authentic Captain Kirk chair that plays sounds from the original Star Trek. It costs $3,000. Or, I could just get an electroluminescent t-shirt.
The Panasonic HDC-TM350 shoots 24 frames per second in 1080p. It has 64GB of storage, line in and a mic in.
AT&T is testing out a new program, for now just in Atlanta and Philidelphia. You can get a netbook with built in 3G subsidized with a 2 year contract.
Intel is working on something called IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) in conjunction with Volkswagen. They embedded a full IVI computer in a head unit to provide gesture control over music, photos, and 3D GPS navigation.

If you need a cross-series companion for that Kirk chair, why not go for a full size and feature heavy reproduction of the “Lost in Space” robot? With 511 phrases from the original voice actor, it probably says almost everything it did on the show. And the $24,500 price will make the chair look like an impulse buy!

After hearing friends and family rave about the Garmin navigation systems, I decided to do some research and after that decided on the Garmin nuvi 780. It came quickly and the instructions were easy to understand. I liked the feature that allows hands-free phone use by pairing my blue-tooth phone and being able to use the phone through the Garmin. Excellent feature. I found the maps to be quite accurate even though my homesite doesn’t yet appear since it’s in a new development just 2 years old. The added features of restaurants and such is a nice bonus when in a larger city, as well as locations of gas stations. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase of a Garmin nuvi 780.
