I’m happy that the 3.0 version of the software is nearly here, but beyond that I’m rather disappointed. I do like the MacBook Pro 13-inch, but the loss of the express-card slot is a major bummer. Glad I still have my circa 2007 MBP.

not sure I understand the problem with the battery – presumably, by making it built-in / non-changeable, they were able to include a larger one … which seems a good trade to me !!

should probably be a bit clearer in that the macbook 13″ was rebranded as the macbook pro 13, and got the respective upgrades (basically, FW800, and the supposed better screen that has been swapped in since early spring).

It’s not really new, and exactly what they should have done from the start.

I’m very saddened by the built in battery, even if it’s better. I accepted all this in ipods because @$200, it didn’t seem too bad a thing to give up for form.

The iPhone… yeah, when they finally subsidized it, not too bad. Still didn’t like it.

But when they did it for the macbook pro 17, no way. $2500+ and I can’t change the battery? ouch. Even at $1200…. not liking the way all this goes.

the TomTom app etc looks neat … hopefully the mount & new iPhone allow for an external aerial, though, because we find we have to use one with our current TomTom on my wife’s car (because of the solar glass etc) …

Thank you for the update as I was unable to attend or participate in any live streams. I did monitor some tweets form the keynote however I found this well balanced. Admittedly was hoping for an alternate carrier announcement for the iPhone as I am not big on ATT.

Thank you, GBTV for covering the WWDC. I’m super excited about Mac OS 10.6 “Snow Leopard.” I’ve been a Mac user since 1997 and a fan of OSX since it first “rolled out.” OSX meant that I could have Unix on my Mac without having to login to a remote machine, something akin to my idea of g33k paradise. I understood that in order to render the kind of graphics and multimedia that Mac is famous for, OSX (Darwin + Aqua) would have a high overhead and that was fine, but with Tiger (10.4) and Leopard (10.5) the overhead just got ponderously “heavy” and that’s why I’m chomping at the bit for a lighter, more trim and lithe OSX in Snow Leopard when it rolls out this September.

hope they’ve improved sound (call) quality on iPhone, too …

HSDPA, or whatever it’s called now, and tethering, as well as good sound quality, have been around for quite a while in some parts of the world, on other platforms anyway – it’s been very odd that iPhone has been so persistently behind in these ways – especially with it having significant sales outside the US !

Hey, I like the studio & enjoyed watching the livestream but could I make a suggestion. Perhaps a different color backlight? That blue is causing a lot of pixilation as it fades.

Do you have any actually journalistic abilities? You are simply reporting here without questioning. Analysis?

That was basically a 4 minute informerical for Apple – you even quoted the benchmark numbers as Gospel – every benchmark released by a manufacture should be taken with a pinch of salt.
