I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

For European contries (and everyone else) Seagate has bought licence rights and made the DockStar… 3 USB ports + docking station for the FreeAgent Go harddrives :-D

Looks like a very nice product and I like the overall concept but I’m a little worry about security (my home network and the sharing files service), here is some posting from WIRE Mag:

WIRED Easy to use. Simple set up. Great utility: I MUST be able to access my collection of LOLcat photos from anywhere. iPhone app is solid software.

TIRED No wireless mode … yet. Poor security it’s a wise idea to keep those tax returns or bank documents off the PogoPlug. Computer crashes are deeply flummoxing. IPhone is currently the only mobile device that supports remote access.

@Vide Szondi: To be clear, PogoPlug is NOT a sponsor. When filming something like this it does take longer to setup because we want to show you enough footage. If I hadn’t been filming, I would say it’s very close to 60 seconds, maybe a minute and a half.

The packaging “out Apples Apple”? The packaging looks just like my Zune, even the color choices. So I agree–it is better than Apple.

Also, this is just the type of thing I’ve been looking for. Any idea about power consumption? Will it power a USB hard drive?

Hey Cali another cool alternative that is similar to this but only software is a thin caled orb it streems media just like this dose with a cool interface check it out at orb.com

This seems super cool, Cali, but I can’t help but wonder whether streaming video, etc. from it might violate the TOS of many service providers. I’m sure they’d have thought of that, though; eh?

Also, is there any way to use it with Time Machine, or does that still require either a connected external drive or Time Capsule?
