Shownotes:
Nikon announced two cameras we’ve been waiting on. The D300s shoots 720p video, has an external mic jack, and does autofocus during video shooting, which the Canon 5D Mark II doesn’t do. The D3000 is an entry level DSLR with a guide mode and stitching software. It doesn’t shoot video.
The LG BL40 Chocolate is a high definition wide touchscreen smartphone. The display is 800×345 and will be available later this year.
Apple released a 2TB Time Capsule at $499. The 1TB is still available at $299.
If you participated in the Windows 7 Beta program, you’re eligible for a free, final copy of Windows 7 Ultimate. Take a look at the .Beta_Program newsgroup for details.

Cali,
I was wondering where you host your flash video. Is it a service similar to blip? Or is it a completely custom player? I am thinking about starting a little video blog for my website and I love the design of your flash player. If it’s custom, what do you think the best-looking flash player on video upload sites is?

I was born in Evansville, too! Switching Granny, who was on a couple shows back, brought it to me. :)

Hey Cali where can I find out more about the mics. Looked on Logitec site but could not find out anything about them. Would love to use it for recording worship team rehearsals at our church.

Where can I find more information about the external iPhone mic? Unless I’m missing it, I didn’t see the name or details linked in the show notes. It looks like it could come in handy. Thanks! :)

Bah! I want a free Win7. I beta tested! well, it’s installed I would’ve sent them bug reports if they gave me a way to (and if I could find any bugs). Unfortunately it’s only for people who were invited to be testers.

Love the podcasts Been a long time fan. I live just outside of Evansville. Ever thought about doing a meet and greet here. We all love you in southern Indiana.

Gee Cali, thanks for getting me all excited of the possibility of getting a free copy of Win7. As Phil said above, this special deal is only for *INVITED* testers.
If you downloaded the Win7 beta on your own, you are not eligible.

Cali, does this mean you’re coming home to Nikon? ;) Hey, if you and Neal are really wanting to get into the technical aspects of photography, I recommend a Rick Sammon seminar or workshop (http://www.ricksammon.com/Events.html). Josie and I attended one a few years back in Dallas, had a ball, and learned a ton! To quote Rick: “My goal: make learning fast and fun.”

Very important fact about the Win7 beta testers that wasn’t made exactly clear in the Brief…
“It should be emphasized that this offer isn’t available to those who tested the beta and RC build when they were released to the public. This offer is only for testers that were invited into the beta program.”

The dual slots has a backup mode. Not sure if it’s write at the same time or write to one, then copy.. but it’s close enough for me. The next camera up that has this feature (which is a killer feature for event photography IMO) is up in the 4k+ range.
I actually considered in my head how much it’d cost to switch, heh.

It’s the Wizzard player – http://tools.wizzard.tv
They just pull from your RSS feed and encode into Flash.
