GBTV #608 | Control iPhone with a WiiMote, New Ustream App, TomTom Car Kit, Sony Party-Shot, Cyber-Shot TX1 and WX1

Shownotes:

User mringwall on YouTube is playing with the possibility of a virtual WiiMote on the iPhone.

Ustream released a mobile app. On the 3GS, it will allow you to record video and upload it. For Nokia phones, you can stream live.

The TomTom Car Kit is priced in the UK.

The Sony Party-shot mounts to a tripod and will take pictures for you while panning and tilting. You can concentrate on your guests while knowing moments are still being captured.

There are two new Cybershots. The TX1 allows you to flick through images and has a 4x telescopic zoom. The WX1 has a wide angle 24-120mm 5x optical zoom lens with a 2.4 maximum aperture. They both use an “Exmor R” back-illuminated CMOS sensor to enhance image clarity and drastically reduce grain when shooting in low light. They also shoot panoramic pictures.

  5. Nick Howe Says:

Almost never seen electronics more expensive in the US than UK, plus UK sales tax is 17.5% and usually included in the price. So $192 at current FX equates to $163 net of tax, and so I would expect a US price of (maybe) $149 + tax instead of $199. Just guessin…
