We were thinking the other day about the Podcast Awards and how it would be nice to win because we hadn’t ever won anything before. Then we remembered we had won a sales contest at our day job the summer before we started Geek Brief. That was the same summer three years ago when we found out about podcasting. We heard Adam Curry on an NPR interview. Neal started listening to Daily Source Code and The Dawn and Drew Show. I started the other way around (first Dawn and Drew and then DSC). We knew like we’ve never known anything before that we wanted to be professional podcasters and that was before there really was such a thing.
We love the medium of Podcasting and the Podcasting community. Early media was limited to very few powerful people. In new media, there is room for everyone and we love that almost everyone in the community cheers for almost everyone else’s success. Maybe that’s because it’s a medium started by geeks. Whatever the reason, this community is a good one to call home.
Thank you for watching and voting. Thanks to fellow podcasters who inspire us every day. Thanks to Mevio (our network partner). And thanks to current advertisers (HP Mediasmart Server, Rovio, GoDaddy) and past advertisers (Drobo, Beck’s Beer, Sony, Splenda) for making it possible for us to do GeekBrief.TV for a living.
Now that we kind of know how to use the equipment and software, we can really start to have some fun!

Couldn’t be happier! You both put a lot into the podcast (and into the entire GBTV viewing family) and prayerfully this is just the beginning of what you’ll be getting back!
Love you like family

Hey Cali, I’m delighted! Totally deserved – I know how hard you and Neal work to make it a high quality show. Streaming is a bit slow by the time it hits Malaysia, but it’s worth the wait.
