Thanks 4 The Nice Read! I've heard <a href="http://freecredit-report.net" rel="nofollow">Online Free Credit Report</a> is definitely a quality website to get my credit report and get the score for nothing. Has Someone else tried them?

Indeed, Woopra is an innovative business tool. I am happy to find your review here. In fact, I just got approved by Woopra and posted a review myself. As you say, the best feature is indeed the chatting.

I guess chatting feature has never been in any other statistics analytics tool yet. So, it indeed makes a difference. Woopra should have opened its testing to various bloggers without limiting it to only low traffic people. What are your thoughts about that.

Thanks for the review, and you may wish to check out my <a href="http://cutewriting.blogspot.com/2008/08/why-i-love-woopra-revolutionary-web.html" rel="nofollow">screenshot review of woopra.</a>

Looks like a way cool tool. I would love to try it out - just to be able to see the traffic and frequency of visitors could be very powerful.

How does the Woopra map react is someone has a website opened, but walks away from the computer? Does it only show a dot on the map when the user is actively clicking links?

@ Sarah, I agree. I also use Analytics and like to browse through the statistical analyses from time to time, but a live version would be cool.
@ Cali, I was interested in the live chat feature that was mentioned in this video. I am assuming that you would have to unblock pop-up windows?

I wanted to stop back by and give everyone an update on where we are at with Woopra...

First of all, thanks to everyone for the kind comments and enthusiasm regarding the application. Now, a few updates:

As Portalzine mentioned, many Web stats providers lack the infrastructure to keep up with Google Analytics. As a result, Web page load times are affected while attempting to track stats. But Woopra has been architected completely differently.

 - Woopra was built to run on Layered Technologies' <a href="http://thegridlayer.com" rel="nofollow">Grid Hosting infrastructure</a>. This cloud computing model will scale to meet any level of demand. Furthermore, we just announced today that <a href="http://onemansblog.com/2008/04/02/layered-technologies-to-provide-scale-to-meet-woopra-demand/" rel="nofollow">LT has pledged 100 Grid Servers to Woopra</a> immediately to help us scale up for the high demand we are experiencing.

- Woopra will be deploying a CDN (Content Distribution Network) within the next week to ensure that the JavaScript required for every page loads on every site in 40 ms or less. I am not aware of another stats provider using this level of sophistication.

- Since Woopra uses a client/server system, our service simply run faster than anyone elses. We offload much of the processing to the client application, allowing us to ensure fast page delivery times - and ensuring stats have absolutely zero effect on the Web site.

We've had many thousands of requests for access to Woopra, and I know it's hard to wait patiently without updates. However, as you can see from above we are putting enough infrastructure in place to accomodate all of the current requests plus more. So, please give us a little time and as the servers begin coming on line we'll start releasing them when we can.

In the meantime, I've supplied Cali with a fresh batch of invites to do with as she sees fit, so keep watching and commenting on GeekBrief and you might be one of the fortunate few who end up with an invite sooner rather than later!

Finally, for those of you who doubt that Woopra can be as revolutionary as everyone is making it out to be, can I just ask one small favor? It's hard to judge an application like this based on a short video or write up on the Web. I would ask that you just give it a try, and allow us the opportunity to change your mind. It's free, so there is no harm in trying.

If it turns out that Woopra fails to impress, there will be no hard feelings! But if you take the time to share with us ideas for how we could improve it to meet your expectations, you'll find us working tirelessly to implement the changes.

Thanks again,

Is it just me, or is this just the most lame episode ever. This Woopra, that isn't even yet available for crying out loud, is just a pimped up webalizer. This was totally not worth geeking over. (Unless he paid for the exposure, I suppose.)

Wow! I immediately added this to my blog. I am in a web analytics class at Brigham Young University and the entire class was stunned when I showed them this video. Hopefully woopra will be able to expand its server capacity soon because I am so excited to try this on my own sites.

In only a couple weeks I will be graduating and starting a job with Omniture as part of their search engine marketing team. Honestly, since I haven't started my job with them, I do not know if they are investigating similar functionality in their analytics suite. Although Omniture SiteCatalyst is more powerful and the data is updated almost instantly, I would love to have that data automatically refreshed in the interface in real time like Woopra!

Hi Cali,

I was one of the fortunate ones able to attend WordCampDallas last weekend to hear all the wonderful speakers, and meet some great people I admire and respect, and received my Woopra invite code.

I'm amazed at how well this works! Bravo to it's creators. I've been Tweeting it up big time, and some have signed up and were dismayed about the delay in being approved, but I told them it is well worth the wait.

I do hope there won't be any problems with page loading times etc, but I'm not going to prejudge this application before its had plenty of testing time. So far, I'm thrilled with it!

Hi Cali,

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I'm wondering if there is something you embed into the iPod version of your show as it appears on my iPod touch as a TV Show AND a Video Podcast. I can see why you'd want it to appear as many times as possible, but I don't need any encouragement to watch!

Thanks,

Cali & Neal,

Thanks so much for coming out and speaking to everyone at WordCamp Dallas as well as the link love you gave John. For those of you who weren't there, Mashable <a href="http://mashable.com/2008/03/29/livestream-cali-lewis-and-neal-campbell-wordcamp-dallas/" rel="nofollow">livestreamed video</a> from most of the presentations, and more professional videos were taken of all the sessions as well, and they'll be released any day now. (I think <a href="http://www.onemansblog.com" rel="nofollow">John P.</a> prefers <<a href="http://www.viddler.com/" rel="nofollow">Viddler</a>.)

- Charles

P.S. I'm looking forward to your release of the behind-the-scenes, how-to DVDs.

Really love to have a live statistic service running again. But will only get excited once I tested it. I have run many live tracking services in the past and most of them either killed page loading times or bogged down the server.

I really applaud the effort, but hardly think a startup can hold up to traffic demands as Google does. I hate the 24 hour wait for my Google stats, but at least my website is not getting much slower using it.

So hopefully we can see invitations going out soon, so that we can test live how well performance is and how well the service scales.

Cheers

Cali,

First of all, thanks so much for the attention. We are absolutely thrilled that you are enjoying Woopra, and truly appreciate your enthusiastic support.

Elie and Jad, Woopra's original founders, were delighted to see our interview and also really got a kick out of seeing your Qik post this morning. They've invested well over a year of their lives bringing the application to this point, and they shared with me that getting to witness your excitement while using Woopra was extremely gratifying.

For all of the readers who are looking for an invite, please know that we want you to have one! Our original intention was to make the invitations available for Beta testing to the participants of the WordCamp Dallas event this weekend, but the response has been overwhelming (all kicked off as a result of Cali's impromptu interview).

We are currently working to bring up new server capacity in order to meet demand, so if you'll please register on Woopra.com we promise to send you an invite as soon as possible!

Thanks again,

John P.

They’ve invested well over a year of their lives bringing the application to this point, and they shared with me that getting to witness your excitement while using Woopra was extremely gratifying.

For all of the readers who are looking for an invite, please know that we want you to have one! Our original intention was to make the invitations available for Beta testing to the participants of the WordCamp Dallas event this weekend, but the response has been overwhelming (all kicked off as a result of Cali’s impromptu interview).

We are currently working to bring up new server capacity in order to meet demand, so if you’ll please register on Woopra.com we promise to send you an invite as soon as possible!

Thanks again,

John P.

This is wicked cool!
And it's only "controversial"
for voyeuristic viewers
(aka: your competitors
stalking your site trying
to steal YOUR ideas)
I luv it!
Let's talk about incorporating
this into the Blogi360 system

FYI The Java 6 that is almost out of beta from apple is for 64 Bit Intel Macs running leopard only, so it won't work with any power pc macs or even the original intel macbook pros prior to the core "2" duo models.

Ben, you can download the Java 6 beta from ADC here - http://developer.apple.com/java/download/ -- just log in with your Apple user ID (you'll end up signing up for the online-only version of ADC, but it's free).

Once you get logged in, click on Downloads, and then "Java" on the right side of the page.

Once you've installed it, you'll also have to go to Applications/Utilities/Java/Java Preferences and set the Java version to Java SE 6, and make Java SE 6 the first one in the list under runtime settings...

Okay, now I have a reason to update my Java. I am so bad about that. Also, a reason to keep juggling two laptops! And way to go breaking the news! You definitely deserve the top spot on Techmeme for this nice piece of Action News reporting.

Yes, you can sign up for the service, and you'll need an invitation code to add a website. As he mentioned on the show, they're rolling out slowly to make sure their servers can handle it and to make sure everything goes smoothly. My understanding is that when you sign up, you're requesting a code and are in line for it.

For Mac users: Java 6 is currently available for developers only, but is due out of beta any day. Follow me on Twitter.com/calilewis - I'll announce when it's out so we can all download it. :)

I am haveing some issues here. First and it is explained in the cast that I will need a invitaion code but I put in my site and there is no way of knowing I am in the list to someday get a invitation code. Next is that Leopard needs to have Java 6 and I cannot find any download for any version past 5 for Leopard. Where the heck do I find it?

Good going Cali get me all excited to play with what looks like a great program and then I find out I am hobbled in two ways from using it :)

Signed very unhappy I cannot play

@ Cali, I just recently started using Google Analytics to track the users visiting my blogs. Woopra seems to have a good GUI with real-time tracking capabilities. I might have to check it out if I ever get more viewers!
