I guess chatting feature has never been in any other statistics analytics tool yet. So, it indeed makes a difference. Woopra should have opened its testing to various bloggers without limiting it to only low traffic people. What are your thoughts about that.

First of all, thanks to everyone for the kind comments and enthusiasm regarding the application. Now, a few updates:

As Portalzine mentioned, many Web stats providers lack the infrastructure to keep up with Google Analytics. As a result, Web page load times are affected while attempting to track stats. But Woopra has been architected completely differently.

– Woopra was built to run on Layered Technologies’ Grid Hosting infrastructure. This cloud computing model will scale to meet any level of demand. Furthermore, we just announced today that LT has pledged 100 Grid Servers to Woopra immediately to help us scale up for the high demand we are experiencing.

– Woopra will be deploying a CDN (Content Distribution Network) within the next week to ensure that the JavaScript required for every page loads on every site in 40 ms or less. I am not aware of another stats provider using this level of sophistication.

– Since Woopra uses a client/server system, our service simply run faster than anyone elses. We offload much of the processing to the client application, allowing us to ensure fast page delivery times – and ensuring stats have absolutely zero effect on the Web site.

We’ve had many thousands of requests for access to Woopra, and I know it’s hard to wait patiently without updates. However, as you can see from above we are putting enough infrastructure in place to accomodate all of the current requests plus more. So, please give us a little time and as the servers begin coming on line we’ll start releasing them when we can.

In the meantime, I’ve supplied Cali with a fresh batch of invites to do with as she sees fit, so keep watching and commenting on GeekBrief and you might be one of the fortunate few who end up with an invite sooner rather than later!

Finally, for those of you who doubt that Woopra can be as revolutionary as everyone is making it out to be, can I just ask one small favor? It’s hard to judge an application like this based on a short video or write up on the Web. I would ask that you just give it a try, and allow us the opportunity to change your mind. It’s free, so there is no harm in trying.

If it turns out that Woopra fails to impress, there will be no hard feelings! But if you take the time to share with us ideas for how we could improve it to meet your expectations, you’ll find us working tirelessly to implement the changes.

In only a couple weeks I will be graduating and starting a job with Omniture as part of their search engine marketing team. Honestly, since I haven’t started my job with them, I do not know if they are investigating similar functionality in their analytics suite. Although Omniture SiteCatalyst is more powerful and the data is updated almost instantly, I would love to have that data automatically refreshed in the interface in real time like Woopra!

I was one of the fortunate ones able to attend WordCampDallas last weekend to hear all the wonderful speakers, and meet some great people I admire and respect, and received my Woopra invite code.

I’m amazed at how well this works! Bravo to it’s creators. I’ve been Tweeting it up big time, and some have signed up and were dismayed about the delay in being approved, but I told them it is well worth the wait.

I do hope there won’t be any problems with page loading times etc, but I’m not going to prejudge this application before its had plenty of testing time. So far, I’m thrilled with it!

Woopra is totally cool! We’ll be installing it on realcookn.tv this week. Like I told you earlier, this thing looks to rock the web stat world.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I’m wondering if there is something you embed into the iPod version of your show as it appears on my iPod touch as a TV Show AND a Video Podcast. I can see why you’d want it to appear as many times as possible, but I don’t need any encouragement to watch!

I really applaud the effort, but hardly think a startup can hold up to traffic demands as Google does. I hate the 24 hour wait for my Google stats, but at least my website is not getting much slower using it.

So hopefully we can see invitations going out soon, so that we can test live how well performance is and how well the service scales.

Once you get logged in, click on Downloads, and then “Java” on the right side of the page.

Once you’ve installed it, you’ll also have to go to Applications/Utilities/Java/Java Preferences and set the Java version to Java SE 6, and make Java SE 6 the first one in the list under runtime settings…
