Wait at 0:40 the guy is still using Windows XP, If we have to stick with XP in the future, I say the future is not so bright

I was just talking to a friend yesterday about the kindle 2, and how we need a similar device that can do everything. Phone, gps, personal PC, E reader, built in camera the works. Aaaaaaahhh!so awesome!
March 2nd, 2009 at 3:56 pm
And by future to have everything running that seamless and with that much ease will require about at least 50 years
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:10 pm
Cool movie, but I doubt it.
I saw one of these in Jan ‘95, back when there was going to be a new version of Windows out in March! This was a 10-year view of the future, and they really only made it half-way.
Still, if by 2020 we can do half of that stuff (not sure about the RFID-enabled “marauder’s” map though!) it’d be pretty impressive.
Does Apple have one of these? :P
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:12 pm
OK Where is this place i wana LIVE there
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:18 pm
The future hmm.. I know for a fact that the updateabe shelf prices were tried in some UK stores 5 years ago and abandoned because older people could not read them. The rest looks good.
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:19 pm
I think the best part about this video is that almost everything that is shown in it is already a prototype or pre-launch of version one.
Nice to see a ‘vision of the future’ that really is just around the corner.
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:32 pm
So, what they are saying is that sometime in the future they will get a Windows based machine to run an application for as long as 1:54 without needing to reboot. Wow. They could save time by just buying a Mac. (Tee Hee)
March 2nd, 2009 at 4:42 pm
wow – pretty cool. I see a strong presence of e-ink in the future?

One thing is for certain, the future will be a great time for manicurists.
March 2nd, 2009 at 5:59 pm
The future looks happy and shiny! :)
March 2nd, 2009 at 6:05 pm
Pretty neat… it seems to me much of the user interface stuff was already envisioned in Minority Report. Not sure if I’d want all sorts of menus popping up in front of me when I go grocery shopping, but otherwise I’d like to visit that future.
March 2nd, 2009 at 8:32 pm
Unlike Microsoft, Apple actually innovates. Microsoft imitates. Maybe what the video was depicting was the technology other companies make “work”. :) Poke Poke!

You know, I would just be satisfied for the next couple of years if the hardware and software we currently had, would stop blue-screening the machines and randomly not working.

Apple does have one….
Everything comes in white and silver, very shiny and every device has an illumated apple logo on the back.
All devices work with the other logo’d software or apps.
Rival company Plum will be making Plum coloured devices – its users will be complaining about the new Apple operating system and the companies innovation.
;)
March 4th, 2009 at 11:53 am
MicroSoft will have no place in my future because: 1) I prefer a Unix shell as my command interpreter and, 2) MS Windows is the operating system malicious persons want to break into the most.
March 4th, 2009 at 11:59 am

Looks like information overload at some points. I’ve long thought that the biggest hang up in computer advances is the interface, keyboard and mouse are great, but they are limiting. If 3D spatial gesture recognition becomes a reality, there will definitely be an explosion of advances.

But very cool stuff.
