When I was live last night on Ustream with Jeff McCord from Moxie Mo Show, someone in the chatroom asked if we’d seen any transparent screens from CES. Well…here you go! :)

Kinda cool, but the technology looks very similar to overhead projector panels I was using 15+ years ago. I wouldn’t want to use it all the time (seems very distracting), but if there was an option to turn the transparency on and off easily it might be interesting.

This transparent screen is probably not the answer, but for live video chat it sure would be nice to have the camera located in the center of the screen rather than off along an edge. That would certainly give a better sense of eye contact.

While this is cool, it seems far from convenient on multiple levels. First, there’s the confidentiality issue. If you thought that people looking over your shoulder was bad, be worried, very worried. And brace yourself for the deluge of comments to come from all the people that dissed the MacBook “mirror” screens, because this is pushing distraction to a whole new level! I won’t even mention the black level/contrast ratio that must be awful…
